True Colours
Coleraine Grammar School is delighted that pieces of Art produced by two of our students, is currently on display in the prestigious, “True
Colours” Exhibition at the Ulster Museum.
CCEA describes the exhibition as follows:
“The Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA), in partnership with the Ulster Museum Belfast, present
the unique and exciting True Colours exhibition 2017. Running until Sunday 19th February True Colours showcases the high calibre of
creative work produced by local students in the summer 2016 GCE & GCSE Art and Design examinations. Don’t miss out on this wonderful
opportunity to be inspired by these creative young minds.”
One of our pupils (currently in year 13) is pictured above with her piece of art entitled “Domestique”, which is an intricate and
multi-faceted piece depicting women’s work. This was one of only 33 pieces of GCSE Art work selected from across the province to be included in this exhibition.“True Colours” estimate that more than 50,000 people will see the Art that is showcased here and our pupil described it as, “a surreal experience” to have her work displayed where so many visitors will see it.
Another CGS pupil had her animation included in this same display. Her piece was from her A Level work and was one of only 22 selected
from across the province for this exhibition. The stills from her video are displayed above as well. She said it was “amazing
to see so many good reactions to my video!”
We are very proud that both these pupils’ talents have been recognised and celebrated in this way.
There are still a few weeks left to go and see this wonderful collection of Art.Please do so!
