Learning for Life and Work

Learning for Life and Work is at the heart of the Revised Curriculum as it aims to develop pupils as individuals and contributors to society, the economy and the environment.Coleraine Grammar School strives to achieve these aims through high quality educational experiences using a range of stimulating and relevant teaching and learning activities.

Throughout Key Stage 3 Learning for Life and Work is delivered through one weekly lesson while at Key Stage 4 pupils will receive at least one fortnightly lesson. During this time the three strands of Personal Development, Employability and Citizenship will be explored through active learning strategies. These are incorporated into lessons to ensure our pupils enjoyment of the subject while developing their thinking skills and personal capabilities.Ultimately, we believe that our delivery of this subject will provide our pupils with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to make informed and positive choices, both now and in the future.
