Technology is more than just a study of theory. It is the application of technical and scientific knowledge with skills to solve everyday problems.

Technology offers a wide variety of experiences e.g. Manipulation of new Materials, Practical work, CNC Manufacture, CAD Three Dimensional modelling, CAM (laser cutting, routering and 3D printing),Programming, Designing and many more.

Over the past two years GCSE, AS and A2 level students have travelled on a collaborative Stem trips to Geneva, Paris and Munich, visiting production lines in BMW and Audi.

Our Department has participated in many competitions winning many regional finals in CAD. More recently we were placed first in the young Innovators competition. The pinnacle for our department was in ‘Formula 1 for Schools’ which is a worldwide initiative to encourage future design engineers. We won at regional, national and international level, travelling with a team from our school to Melbourne to represent the UK in the F1 for Schools World Championships.

We not only won outright but team FUGA broke the world record which we still hold today.
