The Department of Health’s ‘StopCOVID NI’ app version 2.0 has been launched with a focus on young people in schools aged 11-18 years old.
We encourage our pupils to download this app (Google Play or Apple Store).
The App alerts close contacts of other users who have tested positive for the virus.
This will mean that pupils will have phones switched on in school, out of sight and on silent during the school day.
The only occasion a pupil should access their phone is if a member of staff requests they use it for class based learning.
The mobile phone policy allows for this change, noting “Subject to teacher/school guidance re.blended learning requirements/C-19”.
