Meet the Marines
30 adventurous pupils in years 12 & 13 left the Castlerock Road Campus on Thursday morning at 08.00 to spend a day with Royal Marine Commandos
at Palace Barracks. On arrival the pupils were given a very informative presentation on the work of the Royal Marines before being divided in to
groups to take part in a variety of activities. Those with a head for heights got the opportunity to experience the zip line before moving on to
some weapons training in the simulated firing range. The highlight of the day for most was the combat situation that they participated in complete
with laser activated weapons. Anyone who thought that the day was going to be all fun and games was sorely disappointed when they were treated
in true Marine fashion to a physical training session! The day was rounded off by a display of close quarter unarmed combat.
