Some important advice from the Headmaster:

Pupils Currently Studying at Home

The first priorities are Years 11 and 13; I will provide some supporting information for Key Stage 3, Year 12 and Year 14 in a few days’ time.

Pupils and Parents of Years 11 and 13

Years 11 and 13 are almost halfway through GCSE and A Level courses respectively.

I cannot over-emphasise how important it is that this year’s knowledge and skills are consolidated thoroughly during this period of studying at home.

The reasons for this are that you build on this year’s knowledge and skills during next school year, and this is essential to eventual success in GCSE
or A Level examinations in May/June 2021. This is why you take exams in school in Year 11 and AS exams in Year 13 – to consolidate this year’s
knowledge and skills and be ready for next year.

You must complete the program of study that teachers are supplying at the moment and you must complete the revision program which is set (often past
papers).

I hope this helps clarify matters for pupils and helps support parents, as pupils begin to study at home for an extended period.

This is not an easy task, but it is essential, and your teachers are on-line to support you in doing this.

Best wishes and take care.
