GCSE Results

On Thursday 20th August the pupils from Coleraine Grammar School received their GCSE results. It has been a turbulent time for the Year 12 pupils, with
schools being closed and exams being cancelled. However, the hard work and dedication of the students was rightly rewarded with a very pleasing set
of results.

An impressive 58 pupils achieved at least 5A or A* grades in full course GCSE subjects with 43 pupils achieving 7A or A* grades or above. Fourteen pupils
achieved at least 5A*s, one of these pupils achieved 7A*s and 3As, three achieved at least 8A*s, and two pupils achieved at least 9A*.

Many other pupils also achieved admirable grades which allow them to progress to the next stage in their education. In order to comply with social distancing
regulations, we decided to limit the number of pupils in photographs this year; we would normally have many more pupils present.

Headmaster, Dr Carruthers added, “This has been a challenging year for all pupils and in particular the pupils who were to sit external exams. We have
ensured that the Centre Assessment Grades that the pupils have been awarded are as close to pupils’ realistic GCSE outcomes as possible. The pleasing
results that the GCSE pupils have achieved this year is a testament to their dedication to their studies, and to the on-going commitment and professionalism
of their teachers. I would like to congratulate all the pupils, express my thanks to the teaching and support staff, and thank parents for their continued
support.”
