Run annually, the Olympiad is an opportunity for teachers to challenge their chemistry students, helping them to develop problem solving skills and
apply familiar knowledge in new and interesting contexts.
The competition is made up of three stages, starting with the Round 1 paper and ending with four students representing UK at the prestigious International
Chemistry Olympiad.
The Year 13 pupils sat Round 1 of the Royal Society of Chemistry 51st International Chemistry Olympiad competition yesterday with Mrs Reid. This
proved to me no mean feat as the students completed a rigorous 2 hour written examination paper. We await the results to see if CGS can progress
to the next round.
