There has been much to celebrate about this year for CGS Hockey Club.

On Thursday the Headmaster congratulated Kia and Sarah on their selection for Ireland U16’s and U18’s respectively. Both girls will be representing Ireland at the Nations tournament over Easter, playing against England, Belgium and Holland. Kia will go to Holland, whilst Sarah will be at Lilleshall.

Dr Carruthers also congratulated the Emma and Ella, Joint Captains of the 2nd XI. The 2nds had an unbeaten season (Run-Ins don’t count!) and won the Derry and Antrim League. They are seen with the Centenary Cup, a new trophy which was commissioned to celebrate the Centenary of the League in 2021. As the league did not take place last year, CGS has the honour of being the first name on the trophy!
Dr Carruthers said, ‘It has been fantastic to see our pupils competing again this year on the sports field. The Hockey Club has had a tremendous season. Congratulations to the girls and all involved.’
