CGS Primary School Soccer Sevens 2017

This year 10 teams participated at the Lodge Road Playing Fields in an event that has just celebrated its 14th anniversary.
Organisers were delighted to welcome Millburn, DH Christie Memorial, Hezlett, Ballycastle IPS, Ballymoney Model CIPS, Leaney, Harpur’s Hill, Portstewart,
Mill Strand IPS and Damhead.
After some exciting matches in the group stages and then a tense penalty kick competition between Damhead and Mill Strand IPS in the quarter-finals,
Damhead met DH Christie in an eagerly anticipated final. There was nothing to separate the two teams except a Hope Ross goal which saw DH Christie
crowned 2017 champions.
The top goalscorer was from DH Christie who scored 11 goals during the competition.
All those who participated had a very enjoyable day and Mr Chris Murdock (DH Christie) thanked CGS for organising the event saying it was a great competition
and something the girls looked forward to every year.
