CGS rowers enjoyed a great days racing at the Head of the river hosted by Bann Rowing Club. The event consists of two separate races run over a distance
of 3500 meters. 25 boats competed in the first race our boys junior 15 eight came a very credible 8th place ahead of several junior 18 crews.

The girls’ junior 15 eight came in 9th the fastest ladies boat in race 1. The girls’ junior 18 squad a new combination put in a good performance which
will improve with experience, likewise the boys’ junior 18 double. In the race, two forty small boats competed and CGS entered 5 single sculls.
Our junior 18 boy came a brilliant 8th, our junior 15 age group girl competed three years older at j 18 and not only won her category but was the
fastest lady in race 2. Her friend and fellow junior 14 sculler rowed up a year older winning the junior 15 category.

The two boy scullers j 15 and j 16 came up against talented young men from Bann R C and on this occasion came off second best.
