CGSRC athletes had an outstanding medal haul before high winds brought a halt to proceedings at Carlow Rowing Club’s Regatta. The club managed to collect 32 gold medals in total from the 37 rowers entered and one crew, our Girls Junior 14 2x, lost out by only a foot when crossing the finish line (the joys of racing!). Sadly we still had quite a few crews entered to row in the events that were cancelled by the bad weather, so the medal total would have hopefully continued to climb.
A special thanks goes to all of the travelling parents and supporters that made the long journey south to Carlow. Thanks again to Carlow Rowing Club for hosting such a great event and to An Gairdín Beo Community Centre for supplying the overnight accommodation.
